The monkey with the prankster's look and the light coloured belly, has transformed kids' rooms into jungles and sparked dreams of far-away places since 1951. On Danish television it has a permanent place as a mascot in wildlife programs, and as a prize in quiz shows. The monkey was originally designed by Kaj for his grandaughter who was a little messy and never hung her clothes up. The moving hands arms feet and legs of the hand carved monkey move to slip over the top of a door leaving 3 hooks for hanging clothes from.
Hand crafted paper and wire sculpture by Melvin Makaba in South Africa for Potassium. Originally a street artist, Melvin's sculptures are now legendary. Working with the Heartworks gallery in Cape Town ensures that these pieces of art are produced by local artisans developing employment and training for disadvantaged people from rural areas and townships. 30cm high 50cm wide and 60cm deep approximately. interior is hollow and includes lamp holder.
